The pioneering bird keeping DVD series, filmed by Eelco Meyjes, took twelve years to produce and it is believed to be the first such specialist DVD series in the world. Eelco Meyjes has a long history as an active bird lover, and was Chairman of the Rand Avicultural Society (RAS), South Africa's leading bird keeping club, for five years. His professional background lies in the communications industry and it gave him the impetus he needed to combine his professional skills with his interests in videography and birding.

The series presents information on all aspects of keeping and caring for birds, including bird husbandry, nutrition and health, in an entertaining and informative manner.
